What does it mean to Escape from What If World?
Life is a puzzle and the growth of consciousness puts it together.
What does it mean to Escape from What If World?
This is a journey from one end of the spectrum of living life to the other. Let me try to explain what this means in my experience.
Life is a journey of integration. From many pieces to one piece. From fragments to wholeness.
This is what happens in awareness, in consciousness, as we grow, our experience of life quite literally begins to become more whole. The pieces fit together. And that feels so good.
When pieces are scattered, it is unnerving. We are anxious and riddled by uncertainty. Things feel ‘all over the place,’ and we feel overwhelmed by the frantic scattering. We search endlessly… Where are the edges, the corner pieces to give us some feeling of stable, unchanging boundaries?
But when the pieces start to fit together, to fall into place, we feel better. Wow, I can see why and how things happen. I can see that everything happens for a specific reason. Uncertainty begins to fill up with certainty. Doubt begins to melt in the shining, clear sunlight of truth. And this all happens...from within ourselves. In fact, it can only happen from within the Self.
Life is a journey of integration. From many pieces to one PEACE. From fragments to wholeness.
We can see that everything is ok because everything does indeed have its perfect place in life. Every aspect without exception fits into the big picture. What a relief. I can release my straining grip on the steering wheel and trust in the flow of the cosmic wheel.
So even when we feel out of control, we know that things are in control. And the journey of life is then a catching up in awareness, so that we can live this reality directly rather than just understanding it intellectually. We can feel it in our body, in our minds, in our hearts, in our souls.
Life is a puzzle and the growth of consciousness puts it together.
There are no two ways about it. The journey of life lies in putting the pieces together. Meditation brings about this growth. Exercise brings about this growth. Creativity brings about this growth. Music and art bring about this growth. Nourishing food brings about this growth. Rest brings about this growth. Connection brings about this growth. Community brings about this growth. Consciousness brings about this growth.
And what ties it all together? Love.
Because Love is Consciousness.
So returning to ‘escaping from What If Word’, this then is escaping from the what ifs of doubt that arise due to the fragments in awareness, sweating the small stuff, getting stuck in the small boundaries of life which only reveal partial truth and partial untruth because they carry an incomplete picture.
Escaping from What If World is returning to the settled, stable, integrated nature of life, living What Is. What If World was what I lived to extremes when OCD riddled my awareness. Everything around me was always changing, my feet felt like they had no steady ground to stand on.
But once I experienced the integrated Nature of life within, my own true Nature, in the most settled state of awareness through my practice of Transcendental Meditation and supported and enlivened through all the other sources of growth I mentioned above and more, then I knew that What Is is beyond What If. And WHAT IS is full, is complete, is order, is harmony, is unity, is truth.
I took a journey from OCD to Samadhi (Sanskrit word for the most settled state of our own mind, in pure Being, in pure unbounded Consciousness) and in Samadhi, I found ME.
And in finding ME, I began to set myself free from What If World, from the fragments of irrational, unreliable, untruth. I began to settle into a more and more integrated life inside, weaving together a more integrated life outside.
From OCD to Samadhi, my journey back to ME.
And this ME is also WE. For in experiencing that quiet inner peace, that inner piece of life, I glimpsed that reality of the integrated peace of life, the whole in every piece of life.
In zooming out, though we may be living different pieces of life, for sure, life as a whole is one puzzle for us all.
We realize that every piece is fully connected to every other one, and when we come together, when we solve the puzzle together, every piece falls into peace.
We escape that What If World, and we settle into the beauty of What IS.
Life is a woven puzzle and the growth of consciousness sews it together with love as its thread.
And so we journey onward.
With love and gratitude,
Adam
